Elegy

Elegy

A performance without words. Participants: Public.

Elegy was a performance in which the public movements determined the shows actions. The space was a copy of a section of a Russian hospital corridor, furnished with a bench from a local hospital. Behind the door, was a sound installation which was triggered via floor pressure points, activated by the public walking around. The sound sequence was of a woman giving birth, compressed into seven minutes. We hear the first indications of contractions, and follow the waters breaking and the babies first cries. The performance had a circular dramatology.
