Palestinian Embassy

A performance based on the performers texts and an official ceremony. Performers: the public, Palestinian and Norwegian politicians and academics, five dancers, a child, an old man and two pilots.

The performance was an official opening of an embassy, a hot air balloon displaying the colours of the Palestinian flag, and the signage of the Palestinian embassy. After the ceremony, the Palestinian ambassador together with a Norwegian politician mounted into the hot air balloon and flew over Oslo. The conversation during the flight was mediated by Stein Tønnesson and transmitted live to the ground. The conversation covered the possibilities of the democratic rights of the Palestinian population. Dr. Mustafa Barghouti and the law student Hanin Shakrah, participated as the ambassadors.
